Tonight I found it hard to stomach people cheering and shouting in celebration for all the goals Germany scored against England. Although I really am for Argentina in this world cup, I was for England tonight. Losing really sucks and I don’t think its ok for people to say that its ok to lose. Tonight was the worst 500 bucks I have ever spent. In addition to that, I didn’t know I had to pay to watch up until I ordered stuff, so I was sort of pot-committed. (Funny I said pot-committed because I ordered pot-stickers. wala lang.) But to be fair, Germany played an excellent game, and the English defenders just sucked bigtime.
The past 24-hour duty was a hand full. Aside a dozen unresolved cases from the past tour, we had 21 more to accommodate. I was decked 5 patients because it was my turn as C1 instead of C3. Thankfully most of my cases were easy and manageable. What was more tiring was the constant reconfiguration of the stretchers to fit all the incoming patients.
Going on duty, I realize that I don’t only get a 2nd wind come night time but I get a 3rd one on dawn. I had to attend to 2 of my patients at round 3am-7am. It feels kinda weird to be writing down in the logbook unholy hours such as these. I think to myself “what the fuck am I doing at 3:17am?” and it just makes me miss being out during that time or being sound asleep at home.
These sudden surges of energy sometimes leaves me thinking that I am youthful and invulnerable. But once I get home, it just all comes down on me like a car overheating and stalling. To shut down out of sheer exhaustion masked by the euphoria endorphins give, is a perfect way to end the day by sleeping off the half of the next one.
Mike G is back from the dead. Rising from the ashes, his long hiatus from FC Medisina, attributable to love and back pains, he arrives in a blazing glory of goals. Today in practice, he showed me that he still got what it takes. He scored too much for me to remember everything. But they seemed to come from all angles.
Mucho Bueno! Trifecta is back! Himed vengance, here we come! (evil laugh)
Got to try the yogurt affogato from coffee bean today. Amazing stuff. Looks like this will be my remedy oasis for the coming scorching days.
